Basketball Cross-training with the Sport of Netball.

6 weeks to develop the “other” important basketball skills such as:

  • Passing (when to use the appropriate pass)
  • Movement without the ball
  • Dodging/Cutting
  • Ball handling (no dribbling involved)
  • Footwork
  • Pivoting
  • Agility
  • Improve decision making
  • Smart defensive concepts
  • Fun games
  • Learn the sport of Netball


One major rule of Netball is NO DRIBBLING. The intent of this clinic is to bring players back to the basics, promote more passing, cutting, spacing, less dribbling, encourage team play and focus on developing the athletes all round game. Come with an open mind!


Sharon Butler “Coach Mom” holds a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education Degree from the University of Toronto where she played varsity basketball for 4 years. She is a certified level 3 coach, coached at the College level in Toronto, ON for 15 years and is a two time OCAA Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year. In addition, Sharon represented Ontario and Canada in the sport of Netball, traveled to numerous countries, and competed in the Commonwealth Games in 2002. She now works as a consultant advising parents & athletes about recruitment to prep schools and beyond.
